Chugpi is a traditional wooden Korean instrument used to signal the beginning and end of meditation. In the past, it was made from split bamboo. It is held in one hand and a sound is made by clapping the other open palm. Chugpi is made of high-quality wood and decorated with a symbol, for example, in the shape of a turtle.
